Happy Birthday Aiden!!

2 years down. Many more to go. Aiden is a boy FULL of personality. It has been so fun to see him develop. I wish everyone could spend a little time with him and just watch his smile and exuberance rub off on those around him.

He is stubborn, caring, mischevious, friendly, sensitive, kind, funny, and on and on.

When he sees strangers he loves to say "Hi!" and wave. And if they don't respond, he doesn't give up. "Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi!"

When people leave our home he always runs to the window to see them off. "Bye! Bye! Bye! Bye!"

Aiden loves to be a part of the family. Wherever we go, he wants to be a part of the fun. Playing catch in the backyard? Aiden is there. Swingset? Done. Going on a walk or heading to the store? Buckle up.

I think he loves finally being able to commnicate because he talks all day and all night. Even after you put him to bed, he will occasionaly curl up next to the door and peek out, trying to see footsteps as people walk by. "Dad. Dad. Dad. Dad. Dad."

"Go to bed Aiden."

"Ok..... Dad. Dad. Dad. Dad."

Aiden is lucky to have a best friend in Sydney. She takes care of him and is kind and understanding beyond her years. They have a fantastic time together running around the house.

Aiden is curious and smart. A deadly combination. He knows that when Miranda is tethered to the couch nursing Taylor, he has an opportunity to try out all sorts of new things. That occasionaly ends him up in timeout, (a buckled high chair) where he will announce joyfully to anyone walking by, "(I'm) Done. Done. Done. Done. Done"

Done? No Aiden. We are just getting started.

You said it...

Emma had a bit of an attitude after I asked her to clean up this afternoon.

I mentioned that she needed to have a better one.

She replied, "Well, I don't have a good attitude."

And then followed that up with: "And I'm not a good sport either!"

A New Toy...

I recently purchased a new camera lens that I had long been lusting after. Of course the first victim was Taylor.

Are we excited that Miranda's mother is leaving on Tuesday? No. Not so much. Would anyone like to come take a shift in Arizona? We have a comfortable bed and we run the air conditioning 24 hours a day. The pay stinks, but the benefits are unbeatable.

We finally got around to counting, and yup... 10 toes.

A New Name

Yes, I changed the name of the blog.

"Emma Sydney and Aiden" didn't work any more.
"Emma Sydney Aiden and Taylor" was a bit of a mouthful.

The new name... well... it just works.

When I Say Jump...

If you remember, last year Sydney participated in Soccer and Emma did Ballet. This year, Emma is doing Hip Hop dance, and Sydney is doing Gymnastics.

Saturday was Sydney's first day of class.

She was super excited and super cute.

How Time Flies

2 Weeks! We made it. I guess. Did we have a choice?

So far so good. We just swapped Grandmas. It has been fantastic that they both have been able to come out and help. I don't know what we would have done with out them. (Actually, I do know. It would have involved lots of screaming and running into walls.)

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

We made it home on Sunday with no problems. Yes. That's right. Miranda delivered a baby with no epidural and then went home the next day. Why did we leave so soon? Well, Miranda needed to plant the corn and reroof the house.

Not really.

I just couldn't handle one more night on that torture contraption the hospital likes to call a guest bed.

Hmmm... So... We get to keep her? I'm not really sure what to make of that.

The Great Escape (Part 3 of 3) (Meet the Family)

The long awaited final installment. Here are some shots from last Saturday when the family came to visit Taylor on her birth day. Aiden was by far the most interested.

Over and over he would repeat "Baby! Mine! Hold it! Baby! Mine! Hold it!"
