Summer 2018

Just wanted to do a quick catch up of summer and all the happenings in our family.  This was a busy summer for us.

Emma and I started off the summer with Youth Conference.  Then the family went to Texas for Caleb's baptism. Emma didn't join us because she was at a camp in Prescott for Student Council. While we were in Texas, Brent got called as the 1st counselor in the Stake Presidency.  To say it took us by surprise is an understatement.  It was a whirlwind weekend for him and I was really sad to be missing all the excitement.  He felt extremely overwhelmed and under-qualified.  But, with a few reassuring experiences from Heavenly Father, he's been learning the ropes and doing a wonderful job!

Emma also attended Amelia's stake youth conference in New Mexico.  It's called a Moroni's Quest where the kids get to reenact the Book of Mormon stories.  I was so excited for her to participate.

In exchange for letting Emma come, I took Amelia's four kids while she ran the conference.  It was a busy few days for me but the kids were great!  Sydney was a huge help!
When you survive taking 7 kids swimming, you celebrate with Taco Bell slushies!

Tesa had some kind of encounter with a snake. The vet suspected it was a rattler but we have no idea what happened.  Thankfully, it was a mild bite and with some antibiotics, she started returning to her normal self.  Wish this dog could talk and tell us more.

I got to join the two older girls at girls camp for a few days.  Unfortunately, these are the only photos I got (they're strict about no electronics).  It was fun to be there one last time before I got released from Young Women's.

Sydney spent a week at Amelia's hanging out with Grandparents and helping with kids.  She also participated in a Jazz band camp at school.  Taylor took a gymnastics class and loved it. Aiden did summer school for the month of June.  We also did plenty of swimming, movies, and friends.

And, of course, the summer ended as we sent kids off to school.  Emma started high school/seminary.  I was sad to see them go this year.  Our summer was too busy and I didn't get enough family time with them.  But, here's to a great year!

Our last baptism

Taylor got baptized a few weeks ago.  It was a great day for her.  Both sets of grandparents came, the Pedrozas came, Aunt Shanlee came, and the Carlsens joined us.  Plus, she had lots of local families that showed up to support her.  It was a good day.

I am so super proud of this girl.  She is a sweet, thoughtful, smart child.

She will often clean the kitchen or pick up a room without being asked.

She loves to read.  She loves to hang out with mom.

She has enjoyed taking gymnastics this summer and is excited to start soccer again soon.

Taylor has a kind and believing heart.  She wants to do what is right and is always worried about including others.  I am so proud of her!
