Phoenix was our second home during April. Both Taylor and Aiden played in a month-long soccer tournament. So, we drove up several weekends for games. I only took videos of a few sweet plays, so I don't have photos. Aiden's team did well until their very last game when the got beat 7-1. The refs were partly to blame which made it a very frustrating way to end the season. Taylor guest played on the state team, and it was really fun to see that she fit right in with these more advanced players. Both kids woke up the day after everything was over and commented how they wish they had practice to go to.....what?!
Sydney and Taylor performed in the piano ensemble. Both the boys were busy with soccer, so I had to sit alone. But, the three of us had a nice dinner beforehand.
Taylor's big band trip to California got cancelled last minute, so Mark took the kids to Phoenix for a band festival. Taylor had a great time. Although, I had to drive up to get her early since she had a soccer game Friday night (ironically this one was in Tucson).

Sydney performed in The Music Man. This show has been a bit hard for her, since she desperately wanted to be cast as Marian. HEY productions has been more and more frustrating over the years. Sydney feels passed up for roles she wants, only for those roles to be given to people who seem to always get the leads. Part of it is height (and a lack of tall boys), part of it seem like type casting, part of it is just part of this business, and part of it feel personal. I have encouraged her to seek our other production companies, bu HEY productions is so convenient, does great shows, and has all her friends. At any rate, Sydney did great as Ms. Marian's mother who has a thick Irish accent. She nailed the accent and it was so fun to see her on stage (duh) .

I was able to check Mt. Wrightson off my bucket list. It's a long hard hike in Madera canyon. Amelia put a group of people together who did a few preliminary hikes and then planned this all day hike. It was nice to hang out with people I don't usually go out with and it was wonderful to get outside and enjoy the weather before it go too hot. The view was amazing but FULL of bugs, so we didn't stay too long. It really was pretty steep the whole way, but I'm glad I've done it (I don't know that I'll do it again).
