Our comings and goings

Here's what we've been up to lately.....

Aiden participated in his first pinewood derby.  He had a great time making his car with Brent (who was busy referring soccer and didn't get to see him race).  He decorated it with flames and stars.  His car placed 3rd in his den and got to go on to the stake tournament.  It was a fun experience for him.

I snapped a picture of all the sisters from our ward supporting their brothers at the derby.  Most of these girls have grown up together.

Emma and Sydney performed at a big piano ensemble night.  Emma did this last year, but this time Sydney got to be her duet partner.  The stage has 10 grand pianos and a professional conductor leads all the pianists in a song they've prepared.  They didn't love the song they played (Winsome Waltz), but they got it perfected just in time.  It's held at Centennial Hall, which is a pretty fancy theater that holds about 2,800 people.  I would be so nervous playing for that many people but they both kept their nerves under control and played beautifully.

Mia was also a performer there.  Love that cousins can do these things together!

While the girls were busy doing this........

Aiden was busy doing this.......
This kid is the deepest sleeper and can zonk out anywhere.  He slept for 1 1/2 hours and I had a hard time waking him up.  He was a zombie walking to the car, I thought he might walk into the street.

Emma and Sydney participated in her first formal dance.  Really, there was very little dancing (I chaperoned) but lots of awkwardness.  Emma was voted as the 7th grade princess.  Here she is with Blaine Robinson, the prince looking very....royal.

Sydney went on a band trip to Flagstaff.  Since Emma didn't do band, this was Sydney's first trip solo.  I heard from a few chaperones that she was very impressive on and off the stage.  She had a solo and one of the instructors picked her out to help demonstrate a few things.  She totally rocked it!   They are also going on a trip to California next month.
Swimming at the hotel pool with her roommates.

The full jazz band getting ready to perform.

Taylor went on a school field trip to a farm.  I chaperoned (hence the photos).  It was really fun and made me wish we had a big garden.  Love hanging out with that girl.
