January Joys

January was full of soccer for Taylor  Her team took 1st place in a tournament.  They never gave up any goals and often won by a lot.  Finally, their last two games took a little more effort.  Each game also got colder and windier as a storm rolled in.

If we have to play on Sundays, we try to avoid buying food, so we had a picnic in the car.

The final game started on Sunday afternoon right when the rain started.  Thankfully, Taylor decided to wear her sweatshirt under her jersey.  The girls played so well, but the game ended in a 0-0 tie.  So, they had to shoot penalty kicks.  That right when the rain really picked up.  I will always remember, sitting in our wagon (I had forgotten a chair), under an umbrella and a blanket.  Brent was on the phone because he wanted a play by play while he was driving home from dropping Emma off at school (her shuttle was cancelled thanks to the storm).  Every time we missed, they missed.  Every time we scored, they scored.  Finally, it was Taylor's turn to take a shot to win but her kick was blocked by the goalie!  We ended up going through 10 PKs!  It was so intense.  Thankfully, her team won it.

This is her after the game.  As soon as I took the photo, Taylor burst into tears.  She was so tired and wet and was crushed that she had not made her goal.

I've learned how fun watching sports can be, especially when you win lol.  This girl is so awesome to watch!
Here she is all scraped and banged up after another tournament, where her team took second, losing the final game in PK's!

Aiden had a good time making a lot of money this weekend too since he is still doing high school soccer and is available on the weekends.  He is saving for BYU soccer camp and Switch accesories.

Sydney has been working hard on her splits and is only a few inches away!

We've also gone to see Annie and To Kill a Mocking Bird

These kids had a successful cotton candy booth!
