End of the School Year

May wrapped up our school year as usual-with a full schedule.  We attended Walden Grove's dance showcase, in which Sydney performed several times.  I was struck by how comfortable she looked while dancing her contemporary pieces.  It has been really fun to see her improve her dancing this year.  In addition to her WG advanced dance class, she has taken a tap class and a spins/turns technique class at a studio in town.  She's really enjoyed it!

For her voice recital this year, Sydney chose an ambitious song called "Meadowlark".  It is a big beautiful story song that requires a lot of power.  Sydney has the perfect voice for this kind of song.  Her voice is big and strong and when she really sings, she gets exhausted.  She did so well at her recital (even though she claims it was "MID").

Aiden is so happy school is over.  He had to really work the last month to get a few of his grades up (he HATES his ASL online class).  But, he did it and ended the year with all A's and B's.  So proud of him!

Taylor also had to work hard in her math class this year.  She got a B+ during the first term and it haunted her all year.  She was able to pull of all A's for the last semester and has been approved to take Algebra as an 8th grader next year.

This was Taylor's posse for the middle school dance.

Emma is home for the summer and looking for a job.  I noticed how peaceful my heart felt having everyone home again.  I miss them so much when they're gone.  Emma has matured and grown since she left.  It's fun having long conversations with her about things without fighting or parenting her.  She has loved her Interior Design classes and it sounds like she's pretty good at it.  I'm so glad she found something she's excited about!
