Our dreamy Christmas break ended with a soccer tournament in PHX for Taylor. She was asked to guest play on the NPL 1 team and she did fantastic. They even won the tournament despit having to play in cold rainy conditions. Their championship game got called off when it started hailing and snowing! They were winning anyway by then, so they were crowned champions once the snow stopped.
A few weeks later, she was playing in another tournament with her team. Good thing she loves soccer and especially tournament weekends! She tells me often how much she loves playing multiple games in one day.
Aiden finished up another year of soccer at Walden. This year was more fun since he was a starter for the JV team and got a ton of playing time. He really enjoys playing HS and it feels like a nice break for our driving schedule. The only photo I got of the whole season was this one. It's halftime of a Varsity game that we were just watching. Aiden decided to just go kick the ball around on the field in front of the crowd. I just though it was cool that he didn't mind doing that in front of everyone.
And Taylor will be joining him at Walden next year! Her and her friends went to future freshman day and got all excited about high school. I have mixed feelings about it (shocker!). Its sad for me when she moves on to things but I know she is going to love HS!!
January was also filled with ups and downs for Sydney. She was not asked to come in for Musical Theater callbacks anywhere. It would have been unusual for a Freshman, but we were still hopeful. She may try again in a year.
She was, however, offered the lead role in Hey Productions Beauty and the Beast!!! It was so exciting. It was so nice to see the cast list and feel like she was finally getting a part she deserved. She said her acting is what set her apart from the others and she felt like she was a strong contender-which apparently she was. Playing Belle is going to be so fun and she is going to be soooo good! We can't wait!!
